Gate 5e

You summon a portal to connect an unoccupied space you can see within a cast distance to a specific location on a different plane.

Gate

  • Level: 9
  • Casting time: 1 Action
  • Range: 60 feet
  • Components: V, S, M
  • Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute

The portal is a circular opening 5 to 20 feet in diameter that you open. Its opening faces in any direction you specify and continues until the spell ends.

Portals have clear front and back sides when they appear in a certain plane. Only things that pass through the portal from the front can realize its teleportation function, so as to teleport to another plane, and appear in the unoccupied space closest to the portal.

The deity and other plane rulers can prevent the spell from creating portals anywhere in its territory or in its realm.

When casting this spell, you can say the name of a particular creature (not a pseudonym, title, nickname, etc.).

If the creature is on a different plane than you, the portal will open next to the named creature and draw the creature into the portal.

At this point, the creature will appear from the other side of the portal where you are and appear in the unoccupied space closest to the portal.

You won’t gain any special ability of the teleported creature, and it can freely do whatever the DM deems appropriate at this time. It may leave, it can attack you or assist you.
